Patrick J. Dean has been a cornerstone of the construction industry for more than 40 years and currently serves as President of the Associated Builders and Contractors Virginia Chapter (ABC-VA), a role he has held since 1992. He began his ABC career in 1985 at the national level, developing deep expertise in membership growth and association leadership. Under his guidance, ABC-VA has expanded from a modest 170-member organization into a thriving chapter with more than 600 members and three branch offices, becoming a recognized leader in construction trade education.

In addition to his executive leadership, Pat is an accomplished educator and presenter, regularly contributing to programs such as Construction 101, the Leadership Institute, and Franklin Covey’s 7 Habits. An interesting fact about Pat is his hands-on role in shaping workforce development—he has personally helped design and deliver training that has influenced thousands of construction professionals across Virginia.
